The Center for Buddhist Studies in the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine

The Center for Buddhist Studies seeks funds for a new home planned within the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, a landmark facility dedicated to health and wellness.

The study of Buddhism as both an ancient and evolving repository of knowledge is of great value in the work of improving people’s well-being. Working side by side, collaboration between the two Centers will enhance research outcomes and allow for the synthesis of Buddhist practices into health and wellness curriculum. The partnership will facilitate collaborations in which the two programs can amplify each other’s work. Like integrative medicine, Buddhist Studies takes a humanistic approach to the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of individuals and the community.

Help provide the Center for Buddhist Studies with this harmonious new home. A naming gift ensures that your philanthropic legacy will be interconnected with the prestigious UA Center for Integrative Medicine and its namesake, Dr. Andrew Weil.

Naming Opportunities

When the funds are raised, the Center for Buddhist Studies will have a suite in this innovative building uniquely suited to our mission and needs, with space for a library, tea ceremonies, visiting scholars, international conferences and community lectures. Upon completion, the Center for Buddhist Studies Suite will be the largest of its kind anywhere outside of Asia. We are in search of investment funding from visionary donors like you to allow the Center to move into the building upon completion. This distinguished group of donors will be permanently associated with the Center and with the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.

Naming opportunities within the space are available at several different giving levels, including: $1.5 million to name the entire Center for Buddhist Studies Suite, $500,000 to name the Director’s Office, $500,000 to name the Tea Ceremony/Conference Room, and $250,000 to name either of the two additional CBS offices.

Andrew Weil

“We believe that the built environment is an essential component of integrative health, central to disease prevention and health promotion. Our research has proven that the design of the office environment can affect people’s stress and activity levels, their posture, even their sleep quality. This custom-designed facility brings together the concepts and philosophies upon which Integrative Medicine is built and including the Center for Buddhist Studies is a crucial element in promoting health of the mind and spirit as well as body.”

―Dr. Andrew Weil
