Alumnus of the Year Ron Dziwenka

Ron Dziwenka earned his Ph.D. from the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Arizona under the direction of Dr. Jiang Wu in 2010. Currently he is the Senior Study Abroad Advisor for the Center for International Education at Salisbury University in Maryland, as well as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of History at Salisbury University. His presentation was accepted at the IMACSSS conference in Poland this past October, and will again present in a session at the American Philosophical Association Pacific Division meeting (April 17-20, 2019) in Vancouver, Canada. He has submitted an article and a book chapter review for a special edition of the Journal of East-West Thought, as well as a course proposal to the Honors College at Salisbury University entitled “History of East Asian Buddhism.” He is currently organizing the third international conference by the non-profit charity organization he founded in 2013, International Academic Conference for Taekwondo (iACT). iACT 2019 will be held on February 16 and 17 at Stanford University in partnership with the Center for East Asian Studies and Stanford Athletics.
