Call for Nominations: 2026 Khyentse Foundation Student Award

Dear Friends of the Center for Buddhist Studies,

The Khyentse Foundation Student Award was established in 2018 at the Center for Buddhist Studies at the University of Arizona to encourage graduate and undergraduate students in their study of Buddhism and related subjects.
This year, we invite nominations, including self-nominations, for one or more accomplished undergraduate student at the University of Arizona who has demonstrated excellence in the study of Buddhism.
Nomination Process:
To nominate a student, please submit the following information:

  • Student’s name
  • Short description (achievements, interest in Buddhism, relevant coursework)
  • Contact information (email)

After consideration by a committee, selected students may be invited to submit:

  • A one-page statement describing their academic interest in Buddhism
  • A writing sample from coursework or a study abroad program
  • A transcript (unofficial accepted)

The total amount of each awardee is up to $1,500.
