Collaboration between the Center for the Buddhist Studies and Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou

The Center for the Buddhist Studies recently reached an agreement with Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, China to collaboratively promote the study of Hangzhou regional Buddhist culture for a period of five years. Lingyin Temple will provide funds to establish two graduate student fellowship, ten undergraduate travel awards for UA’s study aboard program in Hangzhou, a best research paper award for graduate students, and a Hangzhou Buddhist Culture lecture series. On behalf of the Center and the Temple respectively, Prof. Jiang Wu and Abbot Shi Guangquan signed the agreement at Lingyin Temple on Sept. 17, 2018. Detailed policies and procedures for implementing these programs will be announced later.
