Cutting Edge Digital Advances by the Center for Buddhist Studies

In the Spring of 2019, the UA College of Humanities distinguished director of the Center for Buddhist Studies Jiang Wu with a project development award.  Professor Wu’s advancements in Buddhist Geographical Information System (BGIS) and Regional Religious System (RRS)is being developed to store, link, and demonstrate the relationships of geographical data on important Buddhist sites collected from the Hangzhou region of China and beyond.  This project represents another important contribution towards the global understanding of Buddhism from the UA Center for Buddhist Studies.
