We are thrilled to announce that our Center’s Director, Dr. Jiang Wu, has been named a Regents Professor at the University of Arizona! As the founding director of the Center for Buddhist Studies, Dr. Wu has significantly advanced the study of Buddhism on a global scale, establishing our Center’s strong international reputation.
Regents Professor is the highest faculty rank at the University of Arizona, awarded to full professors whose remarkable achievements have garnered national and international recognition. By policy, appointments to this rank are limited to no more than three percent of the university’s tenured and tenure-track faculty.
This honor not only acknowledges Dr. Wu’s exceptional research and teaching, but also showcases the academic achievements of the entire Center. Under his leadership, we look forward to continued growth, innovation, and collaboration across disciplines—further strengthening the Center’s global impact.
