Institute of Japanese Studies Nankai University Delegation Visited the Center for Buddhist Studies at University of Arizona

A delegation of three scholars, Liu Yuebing (Director), Yang Dongliang, and Zheng Wei, from the Institute of Japanese Studies at Nankai University, one of the most prestigious institutes in the field of Japanese studies in China, visited the Center for Buddhist Studies and EAS Department at UA on September 20, 2017. The two sides discussed topics on Japanese research, Japanese language pedagogy, and explored possible collaborations on hosting international conferences, seminars, and exchanges of faculties and students in the future. The delegation also visited the Chinese and Japanese collections in the UA main library. Associate Dean of the College of Humanities Kim Jones, Department Head of EAS Department Albert Welter, Director of Center for Buddhist Studies Jiang Wu, Assistant Professor Nathaniel Smith, Assistant Professor Maggie Camp, as well as PhD students Nan Ouyang and Jingyi Li joined the meeting.
