Our faculty Prof. Takashi Miura was selected as a member of Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton

Takashi Miura was selected as a member of Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton from Jan. 2022 to July 2022. He is working on a monograph on the history of deified protest martyrs in early modern Japan (1600–1868). This project highlights the veneration of protest martyrs as a new religious current in early modern Japan while also reflecting on the intersection between protest movements and religious practices more broadly.
