Research on the Chinese Buddhist Texts from Tangut in Chinese by Prof. Kirill Solonin

We are pleased to announce the publication of Research on the Chinese Buddhist Texts from Tangut (Lanzhou: Gansu wenhua chubanshe, 2022) in Chinese by Prof. Kirill Solonin 索罗宁. This book is an academic work on the study of Tangut Chinese Buddhism, which is one of the projects of China’s National Publication Foundation's "Tangut Studies Library" 西夏学文库(Volume 3). The book includes detailed translations and annotations of “The Ritual of Reciting and Holding the Vajra Sutra”持〈金刚经〉仪轨 , “The Key to the Pivot of the Three Contemplations and Nine Gates by Baiyun Shizhi”三观九门枢钥文, “The Teachings and Practices of the Hongzhou Chan School”洪州祖师教仪, and “The Nanyang Huizhong Recorded Sayings”南阳惠忠语录in two versions, as well as the Khitan documents preserved in Tangut. The author, Kirill Solonin, is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Chinese Classics, Renmin University of China, with research interests in Tangut Buddhism, Sino-Tibetan Buddhism, and Buddhist philology. His research has shed new light on the history of Tangut and Central Asian Buddhism.
